traveling works, 64 letters to m de winter, 14/12/15-26/01/16, thailand, myanmar, japan, (collective work)
during a period of travel the artist sent around 71 envelopes containing forms and letters to his former gallerist m de winter, of which 64 arrived intact/ the letters were coupled with instructions not to open, rather, they should be kept sealed and safe until the artists return at a later date/ the process began as an enquiry into trust and control; would the collaboration strengthen the relationship or would curiosity and carelessness damage it beyond repair(question mark)/ the letters, which remain unopened, were collected by the artist on his return/ kept bundled in an archival box, the information remains private as a subtle monument to the desire that draws us to the unknowable and unreachable/
