unfolding memory – package to r bouwmeester, l havel, r naas, k van der veen, e visser, o van der wal, m zomers/ collective work
during an artist residency the artist sent 7 boxes containing handmade and personal works, folded, packaged and posted to 7 different acquaintances/ on arrival of the package, the recipient was asked to unfold and reveal the work, mirroring the intimacy of its creation/ each work was kept within their domestic spaces, resting on furniture, spread on floors, collecting the dust and dirt of ‘everydayness’ and becoming oddkin to the lives of their caretakers/ each person was asked to write down the date and time of arrival and to keep the piece until the artist returned to the Netherlands/ after the works were collected by the artist, the forms of display and patina of daily life are archived as an integral part of the narrative/
