if a note is a brief record of thoughts written down as an aid to memory, then the body takes notes in its own language/ the ongoing series of works forms an embodied archive of place through ritual and repetition, each work capturing a different location and a set of contingent circumstances. In this work the artist's body becomes a sundial, a clock that uses the sun to mark the progression of time, paused and captured/ remnants of sweat, sand and sticks are clues of a process that is both intuitive and performative/ integral elements to each piece are water and sun, the sun marking the moment to paper and the sea or river completing the action by fixing it in permanence/
